It's true!
How, you ask? It's simple! The 40GB Sony Playstation 3 costs $399.99 available through, among other places, Sony's website - www.sonystyle.com.
Sony offers a $100 card credit on any qualifying purchase on the SonyCard VISA credit card. The qualifications for the card credit are any purchase made on the Sony Style website over the cost of $299.00. Another offer they have associated with the card is 12 months no payments or interest for any purchase over $299.00.
So, I applied for the credit card and was approved. When the card arrives, I will buy the Playstation 3 from Sony for $399.99. Sony will apply the $100 card credit, which will bring my card balance down to $299.99. Then, I apply the $250 I am making at my Easter trumpet gig. That takes the balance down from $299.99 to $49.99. Sony has free shipping offers very frequently, so I may or may not have to pay shipping. So I pay the 50 bucks and cancel the credit card! :) Yippee!
Okay, so God is buying MOST of my Playstation 3. In any case, I would say that walking away with a $400 toy for $50 is something that would make my frugel wife happy enough to allow it to happen. :)
On top of all these cool savings, I have an $80-ish store credit at GameStop for trading in my old X-Box and games, so I'll be able to get a couple of games right off the bat for free, too.

Cool Beans!
Tonight I was the first call of the night on Coast to Coast AM, the best overnight radio show of all time. :) I have listened to this show for about 13 years and, because of my love for the paranormal and other non-mainstream ideas, I love it! I have probably only ever tried to call in about five times but tonight I actually got through!
The first hour guest tonight was Gerald Celente, a trend forcaster and leader of the Trends Research Institute. He was speaking of our horrible economy and mentioned the value of gold and where he sees it ending up. He later mentioned how the US Dollar is currently at the lowest value it has been since 1973 when Nixon took the US Dollar off of the gold standard. Well, the first thought I had was "Since gold is skyrocketing and the dollar is plummeting, why don't we put the dollar back on the gold standard?"
Well, he answered that the time for that has past. In order for that to make sense, gold would have to, in order to counteract all of the currency in circulation and the amount of debt our country currently is burdened by, rise to about $40,000 an ounce. Y-I-K-E-freaking-S!!!!!
Anyhow...if you were listening to Coast to Coast at 1:35 AM Eastern Time this morning...you heard me! (I hope this gives you some sort of idea how difficult my job is...that I can get away with such nonsense at work.)

Nice Weekend
We all went to visit Mrs. Nespy's mom this weekend. Little Nespy has been talking about wanting to see his Nana for a couple of weeks, so we loaded up the car and took him to see her. It was cool that he wanted to go visit and it was fun to watch him get excited being around other members of the family. He played with his cousins and had a very fun time.
When we got back home this afternoon we spent some time outside talking with some neighbors and I recruited one of them to play on that Easter gig with me in Atlanta, so that's cool.
When we got back in the house, Little Nespy decided he wanted to call me by my name for a while. I kept telling him "No, I'm daddy!", but he wasn't interested. After about 5 minutes he stopped. I wish I knew the thoughts and the reasons for the thoughts that go through his head!
Today Mrs. Nespy and I go to buy life insurance and get our wills set up. Fun stuff, huh? Oh well....on with the week!

Easter Gig
Cool! I may have a gig lined up for Easter Sunday. An Episcopal church in Atlanta has contacted me about performing on Easter Sunday. This works well for me since I have not effectively networked here in Savannah.
On that note, if anybody ends up reading this blog and knows of anyone looking for a trumpet player....send them my way. I do weddings, big band, brass quintet, military final honors and can play any style outside of dixieland (which is based more on my musical taste rather than ability). I'll post some sound clips at some point.
I don't have anything more than that to say, really. The rest of my day yesterday consisted of going to the grocery store and then to sleep...yippee!!! Last night was nice...we didn't have the tv on at all until after Little Nespy went to sleep. I like nights like those very much.
The rest of today should be pretty un-exciting as well. I'll get home from work, get changed and go walking/running. Then I will sleep! I've never in my life enjoyed sleeping as much as I do at this point in my life. I guess having a two year old will do that, huh?

Hello there...
Hello there.
Here is my fist blog post. I don't really know that there will be a theme to my blog. Certainly there will be many posts about my wife and son and the things we do. Hey, I'm a very happy husband and daddy....what else would I write about?!
I love photography and live in a beautiful city. I would like to start exploring the historical sites throught Savannah and work on improving my photography skills.
I'm a genealogist. This is a highly addictive pasttime that I really do enjoy. I have always enjoyed research and genealogy is an excellent hobby to put that attribute to good use.
I'm also a musician. Sadly, I haven't had any opportunity to do anything musical since exiting the Army in February of 2007. With all that Savannah has in the way of history it certainly makes up for with its complete lack of any good music going on. Out of the many things I never want to be, ex-musician is in the top three, but it looks like that is the way things are heading. I am deeply saddened and angered at the thought of this but I don't know of any way around it at present.
I don't know that this will really serve any purpose other than a completely un-private journal for me. I used to actively journal for about 8 years. Of course, that was a long time ago. I'm pretty much well-centered these days, so there isn't too much I need to work through or figure out by the process of writing everything in a journal. Plus, if I were going to record my deepest thoughts and feelings, I would not choose the internet to be the place I would do so.
So...there's a completely drawn out and boring first post. It would be great if somebody read this thing once in a while. I am an ex-people person, so while the idea of meeting new people with similar interests is something I am still interested in, it is not something I feel as comfortable putting into practice as much as I once did. If anyone ends up reading here and wants to leave a note, please feel free. I would like to reverse, somewhat, the path to hermitage I seem to be on.
